In the past, my family would gather at Mount Faber or some park... We will take a stroll together... My cousins and I will carry our lanterns and candles and find a nice dark spot... We will compare whose lantern is nicer... I remember i had a rabbit one made of cellophane paper... I think i had that lantern for 3 years and it was burnt on the 3rd year... It was really colourful... I loved to stare into the flames... It will occasionally flicker and the more you stare into the flame, the more attracted you are to it... It was so pretty... Then, when all our lanterns were lit, we would light up the remaining candles and line the pathway with candles... A dark pathway would become so bright with our candles... We will sit along that area and eat mooncakes... i like the snowskin ones with lotus paste filling... It is cold and yummy! As time passes, the candles became shorter and shorter... soon, it would become dark again... After that, we would go our separate ways... with a little reluctance.... how i miss having such a memorable night....
